BHTTNA Participates In
Adopt- a -River Project
Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) is permitting portions of the Trinity River along the trails to be adopted by individuals and groups who will agree to assume the responsibility of keeping the adopted area clean. Joanne Pare has spearheaded the adoption of a section of the river by BHTTNA. As a result of her efforts, we have officially adopted the section adjacent to our neighborhood starting on the west side of the White Settlement Road Bridge up to the water fountain/bench.
Some of us have already started cleaning up; it's as simple as taking along a plastic bag to carry home any bits of trash you might see during your walk along the trail, We will also be participating in the Trinity Trail Trash Bash, scheduled for Saturday, September 20, 2008 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. As with any of the clean-up projects promoted by the city, we will be provided with T-shirts, trash bags and gloves.
Watch for the sign on the trail proclaiming BHTTNA as the party responsible for keeping the area clean.
AND THEN -- PICK UP SOME TRASH!!!
The map below shows the section BHTTNA has adopted for the next two years. The link toTRWD is also provided for those who would like to have more information.

You can read more about it at: http://trwd.com. Click on Trinity River (on the banner across the top of the page} You will get a drop drown menu; click on Adopt A River. To see the map, scroll down to the bottom of the page, click on Select a section. The site can be painfully slow, so be patient and GOOD LUCK!]

This car is for sale through our neighborhood association. The owner of the car will donate a percentage of the sale to the Burton Hill Trinity Trails Neighborhood Association and we are asking $4,000.00 OBO. The car has been stored in a carport on blocks since 1986 by the original owner. It has approx 140,000 miles on it and was in good running condition when stored. The rear windshield is missing and there is considerable rust. Except for the front driver's side door panel, the inside is in fair to good condition.
